About Us

Serofino “Sam” Giambattista has been in the fitness industry for over 16 years working in university settings, private sectors, and other various companies in the capacity of coordinator/director roles and as a personal trainer.  He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education/Exercise Physiology from SUNY Brockport in New York State and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.  Serofino is also certified in CPR/AED through the American CPR Care Association, holds level 1 Instructor status through Imminent Threat Defense Systems (combatives), holds a brown belt in Dan-Zan Ryu Jujitsu, and has experience in western amateur boxing as a competitor and associate trainer/coach.  His athletic past includes baseball, football, collegiate rugby, and amateur boxing. He currently competes in obstacle course racing where he has completed 6 races to date (toughmudders/spartanraces).

            His experience in fitness training includes training all age levels (12-85), and all fitness levels including beginners and those with medical limitations to college and professional athletes. Dependent upon the goal, be it weight loss/bodyfat reduction, muscle gain, sport specific training, injury rehab,  increasing overall fitness and quality of life, or any combination of goals,  he tailors his programs to each specific individual. He prides himself on adapting to anyone’s needs and individualizing programs to fit clients’ goals and fitness levels.

His philosophy on fitness is based on a wholistic approach.  Wholistic not only meaning “mind, body, spirit” but also addressing all the components of fitness.  This theme addresses aerobic and anaerobic fitness, speed, agility, balance, stabilization, core strength, joint strength, range of motion, flexibility, and nutrition/hydration/supplementation.  Each area is assessed and treated with the proper protocols/plans for each and every client.
